The NCVA and NCSA, along with California Kickoff, have partnered to improve your collegiate recruiting visibility by providing color coded wristbands as to identify your graduation year to attending college coaches!

  • Graduating classes 2019 to 2023 will each have their own colored wristband for quick identification by college coaches at the tournament.
  • Come by the NCSA booth, next to the Tournament Desk, to pick up your wristband and take advantage of NCSA’s free jump test + Free Recruiting Profile!
  • Players who are participating the California Kickoff Recruiting Combine on Friday, January 18th, can pick up their wristband at the combine!

Open to any high school age player (FEMALE ONLY), regardless if they are participating in the NCVA California Kickoff tournament or not.


Guest Registration


All family, friends, and fans of all teams must register; no one may enter the playing area without a Guest Wristband.

Players (15 max) and Coaches (5 max) will receive a Wristband as part of their Team registration during check-in. Only players and coaches listed on the event roster will receive a complimentary wristband. All other attendees must purchase a guest wristband.

Guests may pick up Guest Wristbands purchased online at the WILL CALL booth at the main entrance.

Registration opens: November 1, 2018

Entry Fee: $650 for all age divisions


Registration deadline: December 3, 2018

Teams will be accepted after the deadline, if space is available, with an entry fee of $750

Coolers and Food

Anyone wishing to pre order anything from the San Jose Convention Center for their team at the tournament may do so by ordering ahead. San Jose Menu and Order Form. California Kickoff order deadline: Friday, December 21, 2018

No coolers or outside food are allowed in the San Mateo Event Center and San Jose Convention Center. There will be security on-site enforcing this policy.

Camping or tailgating is not allowed anywhere inside the San Jose Convention Center or anywhere on the outside perimeter of the convention center.

This is a site requirement so please pass this information on to your team parents who are traveling to the tournament.

It is highly recommended that you do not leave your belongings unattended. Leaving any items unattended at the tournament is done at your own risk. The NCVA and/or the Convention Centers are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please plan accordingly.

Spectator Code of Conduct

The California Kickoff is a USA Volleyball sanctioned event. By entering the facility, all spectators agree to abide by the following Spectator Code of Conduct as required by USA Volleyball. Spectators also understand that injury from flying objects incidental to the sport of volleyball may occur at this event and attend at their own risk. Be alert at all times, especially during active play. Children not participating on a team entered in the event must be under the supervision of their parents at all times. The venue is not to be considered an open play area. Open courts and free space within the facility are not designated or designed for general child-play activities and should be used for event related activities only.

​Any code of conduct broken at this event can lead to immediate removal from the building.

The tournament takes place on Saturday, January 19th through Monday, January 21st, 2019

While the event takes place over three days, each team will only play two of those three days. Divisions will play either Saturday and Sunday OR Sunday and Monday.
