2025 Boys Far Westerns Recruiting Combine

Championship Combines is focused on creating the opportunity for players to demonstrate their volleyball skills and for college coaches to evaluate recruits in a quick and economical manner.  The Combine format leans towards individual/position/group drills, as opposed to team play.  This allows the college coaches the ability to see multiple repetitions of specific skills, while also reducing the risk of injuries which can often occur in team competition.  Specific information about each combine can be found on each registration page.

Details:

  • Friday, January 10th: 7:00pm – 8:30pm
  • San Mateo Event Center
  • $135.00 to reserve a spot
  • Open to any high school age male volleyball player.
  • This is a VIDEO COMBINE with College Coaches invited – All players/drill/play will be filmed and recorded (men’s college coaches are in their competitive season).
  • THE RECORDING AND PLAYER INFORMATION WILL BE SENT TO EVERY MEN’S COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM IN THE USA!
  • A Recruiting and Combine Update from a 2 time NCAA DI Champion and 20 year NCAA DI college coach will be provided for Players and Families

*Questions? Please contact [email protected] or visit vbcombines.com*

Check-In FAQ

Who can check my team in?

A club director, coach, or team representative may check in one team, or check in all teams for a club. There will be two lines for check in, one for teams with no changes needed, and the other for roster changes.

When does my team need to check in?

AM Wave has mandatory check-in on Friday night more information TBA. Any AM Wave assigned team who does not check in on Friday night may affect eligibility to participate in the tournament.

PM Wave teams will be allowed to check in at the Tournament Desk of their site of play starting at 1PM if they do not check in Friday night. If you are a PM wave team, please allow enough time to be able to check in prior to first serve at 3PM. If a team is not checked in by 2:30PM, it may affect eligibility to participate in the tournament.

How do I check in? What should I bring to make check-in quick and easy?

To check in, please bring a printed copy of your validated roster for the team(s) you will be checking in. A staff member will review your printed roster and confirm it matches in TM2 and that there are no changes needed. Representative will be asked to sign and confirm the roster is correct, so please make sure that rosters are 100% correct if you are having one person check in multiple teams.

If you do not have a validated roster in TM2, you will be directed to the “Roster Changes” line so we can verify memberships and eligibility. Any roster changes that have to be made same day of the tournament will incur a $25 fine and a potential roster change fee (as per USAV).

How do I get my coaching wristband? Do I need to wear it for the entire tournament?

Teams will receive 1 Coaches wristband for each adult on the roster. Once these are given, coaches and staff will not be given another wristband, so please make sure to not misplace it or take it off before the end of play on Sunday, January 12th. To receive a coach wristband, the person MUST be on the roster, or they have to pay general admission.

Rosters

Rosters are open for editing until 5:00 PM, December 20, 2024

Building your rosters requires use of both SportsEngine and TM2

Step 1: SportsEngine

Confirm that all your players/coaches on your roster are assigned to your club.

  • In your “Directory” search for each Player and Coach.
  • Click on their name, then click “Memberships”
  • You should see your Club Name in their Memberships. If you do not see your club name, you will need to send them a club assignment request. You cannot build your roster in TM2 until all players and coaches are members of your club in SportsEngine.

Step 2: TM2

Once all of your players and coaches are members of your Club in SportsEngine, you can build your rosters in TM2.

  • Click your “Members” tab.
    • Click “Import member”.
    • Click the big green button.
  • Once the members are imported, start building your roster by searching  the names of your players and coaches.
    • Please note, if you have previously built your roster, you need to delete it and start fresh.
    • There may be multiple accounts for each person that will populate; be sure to choose the account that says “Has USAV Membership” in green.
  • Once you have your rosters built, click on “Validate”, and the system should validate your roster.

If you complete these steps and TM2 is still flagging players/coaches, it is because they are missing a requirement in SportsEngine like SafeSport, Waivers, Background, etc. There are some rare cases where you have everything, and it still flags them. That is an SE internal system issue at that point.

Hotels - Support the Sport

Help us Support the Sport!
Volleyball tournaments such as these require a lot of space – and that means Convention Centers. But there is great deal of competition for those spaces and it can be impossible to get the space needed for our events on popular weekends unless we demonstrate to host cities the clear benefits our events bring to their local economies.

For your benefit and ours, we’ve partnered with Tournament Housing Services (THS). THS helps teams by getting them access to better room rates, making it more convenient for teams to manage their hotel reservations, coordinate room blocks (e.g. keeping room assignments close together), manage occupant lists, etc. THS benefits the NCVA by securing long-term hotel contracts and tracking hotel bookings, which help us demonstrate our positive impact on local economies and guarantee the success of future events.

Help us Support the Sport – book your accommodations through our housing partner, THS.
