April 2024
Reno Sparks Convention Center
2024 Update!
In response to the challenges that some of our participating teams have faced in the past regarding hotel availability, we have decided to extend the tournament from two weekends to three weekends in 2024. This proactive measure will not only allow us to accommodate a larger number of teams but also ensure a better distribution of visitors across the tournament weekends, ultimately reducing the impact on hotel availability.
As all other National Qualifiers, we will continue to be a "Support the Sport" event through our official housing service, The THS Company.
We will soon be sharing the updated tournament schedule for the three weekends, along with the housing opening date. Please be sure to keep an eye out for this important information.
We believe that the extension to three weekends will create a more enjoyable and memorable tournament experience for everyone involved. We sincerely hope you share our excitement and look forward to welcoming your team!

*Due to requests for division changes in various age groups, which we always try to accommodate, and other team movement, we have reassigned the 15 USA division from the AM wave to the PM wave on the first day of play on Week 2 of Far Westerns. This puts the USA teams for all the age groups together in the PM wave on the first day, which is a preferred arrangement for college coaches recruiting at the tournament.
Prime Division
The Prime Division is a non-qualifying division at the Far Western. This division was established when the Girls Junior National Championships for the 18 and under divisions was separated out from the Summer Girls Junior National Championships. In order to provide all 18s teams an opportunity to participate in the Far Western in a competitive division, the Prime and Select Divisions were formed.
The Prime Division is the higher level of competition, similar to how Open is higher level than USA at a Qualifier.
Select Division
The Select Division is a non-qualifying division at the Far Western. Previously known as the 18 No Dinx Division, it was renamed the 18 Select Division when the 18 Prime division was added.
The Select Division is the lower level of competition, similar to how USA is a lower level than Open at a Qualifier.
The NoDinx / NCVA Far Western National Qualifier will follow the USA Volleyball procedure for breaking ties to determine a Pool Finish.

- Once the members are imported, start building your roster by searching the names of your players and coaches.
- Please note, if you have previously built your roster, you need to delete it and start fresh.
- There may be multiple accounts for each person that will populate; be sure to choose the account that says “Has USAV Membership” in green.
- Once you have your rosters built, click on “Validate”, and the system should validate your roster.
2024 Far Westerns Elite Potential Recruiting Combine
Championship Combines is focused on creating the opportunity for players to demonstrate their volleyball skills and for college coaches to evaluate recruits in a quick and economical manner. The Combine format leans towards individual/position/group drills, as opposed team play. This allows the college coaches the ability to see multiple repetitions of specific skills, while also reducing the risk of injuries which can often occur in team competition.
