Job Title: Senior Director of Programming & Communications
Reports to: Executive Director/Commissioner

Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Position Purpose
The Senior Director of Programming & Communications provides leadership and management for all logistical programming of NCVA events and organizational systems. This includes oversight of tournament setup, transportation logistics, vendor coordination, and digital logistics (website, branding, and social media). The position ensures that all NCVA events and operations are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational goals.

Position Purpose
The Senior Director of Programming & Communications provides leadership and management for all logistical programming of NCVA events and organizational systems. This includes oversight of tournament setup, transportation logistics, vendor coordination, and digital logistics (website, branding, and social media). The position ensures that all NCVA events and operations are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational goals.
Essential Functions Event and Tournament Logistics
- Plan, coordinate, and execute programming and logistics for all NCVA tournaments and events.
- Oversee convention center and venue setup, including courts, vendors, and athletic training areas.
- Manage scheduling and supervision of event setup and teardown crews.
- Direct the transport, storage, and maintenance of court and event materials.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to safety standards and facility requirements.
- Manage website updates, functionality, and coordination with IT or web development vendors.
- Oversee branding standards across all materials and digital platforms.
- Supervise social media and digital marketing activities in coordination with the communications team.
- Supervise staff and contractors assigned to logistics and marketing functions.
- Provide clear directions, task assignments, and performance evaluations.
- Develop work schedules, budgets, and operational timelines.
- Coordinate across departments to support event success and organizational efficiency.
- Prepare reports, budgets, and logistical assessments for the Executive Director.
- Evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements.
- Participate in organizational planning and staff meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics, event management, business, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in event logistics, operations management, communications, or related supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and project management.
- Proficiency in organizational systems, scheduling, and logistics planning.
- Knowledge of branding, website content management, graphic design, and social media oversight.
- Experience in volleyball or sports event management a plus.
- Work is performed in both office and event environments.
- Frequent evening and weekend work required during tournament season.
- Regular travel throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada for event support. Additional travel as necessary.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
